This research analyzes the community tourism experience of the Yunguilla community and relates it to the popular and solidarity economy, which is excluded only by its legal status. This is developed in three chapters: in the first, community tourism in the sector of popular and solidarity economy, conceptualization and their relationship between them; In the second chapter the experience is analyzed identifying the characteristics that link it with the Popular and Solidarity Economy (EPS) and in the third chapter a criticism is made to the institutionality, as well as proposals for its inclusion. The case study allowed us to identify this successful model of EPS in Ecuador, which will serve as a study guide for both actors, government institutions and academy. In addition, it allows to propose that this or similar experiences should be recognized and valued by the institutionality that the EPS operates. In this study we used the qualitative methodology that allows us to look at the reality of the community supported by the interviews, focus group and bibliographic review.
Esta investigación analiza la experiencia de turismo comunitario de la comunidad de Yunguilla y la relaciona con la economía popular y solidaria, de la que está excluida únicamente por su personería jurídica. Esta se desarrolla en tres capítulos: en el primero, el turismo comunitario en el sector de la economía popular y solidaria, conceptualización y su relación entre ellos; en el segundo capítulo se analiza la experiencia identificando las características que la vinculan con la Economía Popular y Solidaria (EPS) y en el tercer capítulo se realiza una crítica a la institucionalidad, así como propuestas para su inclusión. El estudio de caso permitió identificar este modelo exitoso de EPS en el Ecuador, lo que servirá de guía de estudio tanto para actores, instituciones de gobierno y la academia. Además, permite proponer que esta o similares experiencias deberían ser reconocidas y valoradas por la institucionalidad que opera la EPS. En este estudio se utilizó la metodología cualitativa que permite mirar la realidad de la comunidad apoyada por las entrevistas, grupo focal y revisión bibliográfica.
