Description

The oil industry is critical to Ecuador because it represents the main source of income that allows you to run a series of plans and projects that are geared primarily to generate welfare to the population. And considering the economic and social impact, that sector is, at the same time, a strategic sector. The Ecuadorian territory is rich in natural resources such as oil, which since the beginning of the oil industry had to build a special infrastructure for each of the phases. Most hydrocarbon infrastructure is installed in the north-eastern region of the country, bordering Colombia. Threats and risks that affect the infrastructure of the National Hydrocarbon System have greater presence in the border area, to which the Ecuadorian government makes the decision to be the Armed Forces responsible for providing security and protection to all oil and gas infrastructure.
La actividad petrolera es fundamental para el Ecuador porque representa la principal fuente de ingresos económicos que le permite ejecutar una serie de planes y proyectos que están orientados a generar bienestar principalmente a la población. Por el impacto económico y social que representa es considerado como un sector estratégico. El territorio ecuatoriano es rico en recursos naturales como el petróleo, que desde que se inició la industria petrolera, tuvo que construir una infraestructura especial para cada una de las fases que contempla esta industria. La mayoría de la infraestructura hidrocarburífera se encuentra instalada en la región nor-oriental del país, límite con Colombia. Las amenazas y riesgos que atentan contra la infraestructura del Sistema Hidrocarburífero Nacional tienen mayor presencia en el sector fronterizo, ante lo cual el Estado ecuatoriano toma la decisión para que sean las Fuerzas Armadas, las responsables de brindar seguridad y protección a toda la infraestructura hidrocarburífera.
