El desarrollo psicomotriz es uno de los aspectos que necesitan ser estimulados desde los primeros a?os de vida, ya que es un ?rea base para el desarrollo integral del ser humano e influye directamente en el desarrollo de habilidades y destrezas a futuro. Por ello, la presente investigaci?n tuvo como objetivo general establecer estrategias destinadas a la estimulaci?n del desarrollo psicomotriz en ni?os y ni?as con discapacidad intelectual en el nivel inicial de la Unidad de Educaci?n Especial ?Manuela Espejo?. Como resultado de la investigaci?n se gener? un programa de estimulaci?n psicomotriz en la modalidad de intervenci?n innovadora cuyo prop?sito es potenciar las habilidades psicomotrices en ni?os y ni?as con discapacidad intelectual leve y moderada. La intervenci?n se estructura a partir de cuatro circuitos l?dicos destinados a mejorar las destrezas motrices, cognitivas, afectivas, sociales, de comunicaci?n y lenguaje. La investigaci?n se sustent? en el paradigma sociocr?tico abordado desde un enfoque mixto. Adem?s, se utilizaron las t?cnicas de fichaje, observaci?n, encuesta y entrevista con el fin de caracterizar el nivel de desarrollo psicomotriz. El estudio de caso fue la metodolog?a en que se concret? la informaci?n recabada y la propuesta dise?ada. La propuesta innovadora fue validada por medio del criterio de especialistas, quienes evaluaron su coherencia, relevancia, pertenencia y claridad. Los resultados obtenidos de esta validaci?n determinan que innovaci?n desarrollada es viable y est? en correspondencia con las necesidades de la investigaci?n.
Psychomotor development is one of the aspects that need to be stimulated from the first years of life, since it is a base area for the integral development of the human being and directly influences the development of abilities and skills in the future. For this reason, the present research had as a general objective to establish strategies aimed at stimulating for psychomotor development in boys and girls with intellectual disabilities in the initial level of the Specialized Educational Unit "Manuela Espejo". As a result of the research, a psychomotor stimulation program was generated in the innovative intervention modality whose purpose is to enhance psychomotor skills in children with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities. The intervention is structured around four playful circuits designed to improve motor, cognitive, affective, social, communication and language skills. The research was based on the socio-critical paradigm approached from a mixed approach. In addition, the techniques of registration, observation, survey, and interview were used in order to characterize the level of psychomotor development. The case study was the methodology in which the information collected, and the designed proposal were specified. The innovative proposal was validated through the criteria of specialists, who evaluated its coherence, relevance, belonging and clarity. The results obtained from this validation determine that the innovation developed is viable and is in correspondence with the needs of the research.
