Amyand’s hernia is an unusual diagnosis where the cecal appendix is part of the hernial sac contents in an inguinal hernia. It shows a case report of a 71-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of right inguinal hernia treated surgically. Amyand’s hernia was an intraoper tive finding. It performed an appendectomy and hernioplasty with favorable clinical evolution. It discharged on the second postoperative day without complications..
La hernia de Amyand es un diagnóstico inusual donde el apéndice cecal es parte del contenido del saco herniario en una hernia inguinal. Se presenta el caso de un paciente de sexo masculino de 71 años de edad, con diagnóstico de hernia inguinal derecha tratado quirúrgicamente encontrándose como hallazgo transoperatorio una hernia de Amyand. Se realiza apendectomía y hernioplastia con evolución clínica favorable. El egreso del paciente fue al segundo día del postoperatorio sin complicaciones.
