ABSTRACTThe evolution in technology led to a new trend in the development of software, from desktop applications to mobile web environment, enabling people with different physical and cognitive conditions to access those facilities. The quality level of these programs should be excellent, as there are a number of users with varied needs, abilities and complex skills. The purpose of this research was (a) to better understand the criteria that must be taken into consideration to achieve the design of usable software, and (b) the development of a tool that conducts automatic heuristic evaluations of the usability and of the User Centered Design (UCD) for web and mobile applications.As methodological paradigm for research we used a qualitative and quantitative approach, using methods and techniques of inquiry. The research was descriptive-propositional. For the development of the mobile application, the team took the decision to schedule under the methodological object-oriented paradigm and methodology that guided the development of the project, the Rational Unified Process (RUP). The research resulted into the development of three instruments for heuristic evaluations, and a mobile application that includes such tests and statistically determines the level of compliance of the ISO25010 and the usability of the principles of Nielsen. In conclusion, Heuristic Evaluation is a mobile application that can serve as a tool for the delivery of statistical results on the principles of usability and standards.Keywords: RUP, ISO 25010, usability, usability standard, heuristic evaluation.RESUMENCon la evolución de la tecnología, ha surgido una nueva tendencia en el desarrollo de software, pasando de aplicaciones de escritorio a las de ambiente web y móvil, logrando que ingresen personas con diferentes condiciones físicas y cognitivas y accedan a ellas, por ende el nivel de la calidad de estos programas, deben ser excelente, ya que hay un variado número de usuarios con necesidades, habilidades y destrezas complejas. El propósito de esta investigación además de comprender los criterios que se deben tener para desarrollar software usable, fue el desarrollo de una herramienta para automatizar las evaluaciones heurísticas de la usabilidad y User Centered Design (UCD) para aplicaciones web y móviles desde diferentes puntos de vista.Como paradigma metodológico para la investigación se ha utilizado el enfoque mixto (cualitativo- cuantitativo), con la utilización de métodos y técnicas de indagación. La investigación ha sido descriptiva-propositiva. Para el desarrollo de la aplicación móvil, el equipo de trabajo tomó la decisión de programar bajo el paradigma metodológico orientado a objetos y la metodología que guio el desarrollo del proyecto, es la RUP (Rational Unified Process). La investigación desarrollada generó como resultados tres instrumentos para hacer evaluaciones heurísticas y una aplicación móvil que incluirá estas pruebas y lo resultados estadísticos para determinar el nivel de cumplimiento de la normativa ISO25010 y los principios de usabilidad de Nielsen. Entre lo que se pudo concluir Heuristic Evaluations, es una aplicación móvil que constituye ser una herramienta para evaluar y entregar resultados estadísticos de diferentes principios y estándares de usabilidad.Palabras claves: RUP, ISO 25010, usabilidad, estándar de usabilidad, evaluación heurística.
