The detective story and their fingerprints in Equator

Description: This work proposes an approach to detective literature in Ecuador showing how two of its authors make use of the elements of the genre with specific ends. In this way, first we will observe how Pablo Palacio, in his short story “Un hombre muerto a puntapiés”, parodies the elements of the “classic” detective model to discredit the principles of the socialist realism; then we will see how Santiago Páez, in his novel Condena Madre, makes use of the elements of the black novel to make a critical approach to the reality.
Este trabajo se propone realizar un acercamiento a la literatura policial en Ecuador, mostrando cómo dos de sus autores hacen uso de los elementos del género con fines específicos. De este modo, primero observaremos cómo Pablo Palacio, en su cuento “Un hombre muerto a puntapiés”, parodia los elementos del modelo policial clásico para desacreditar los principios del realismo social; luego veremos cómo Santiago Páez, en su novela Condena Madre, hace uso de los elementos de la novela negra para hacer una aproximación crítica a la realidad.
