The body is a tool that remains on the frontier of the different views that art and society seek of it; the body is a social construction, therefore, it is revealing itself, transmitting, expressing, because for the proposals that have made sense, the search is to break the mold, not to pigeonhole. This essay is based on the notion that in our society a dualistic way of looking at the body is conceived, which has been built from the cradle of the Western world. The performing arts speak from a physical body, an element shared between the actor and the spectator: with the body other bodies are read, that is why the symbols and constructs that are generated from it are so powerful and effective. This is way of looking at the body in this text.
El cuerpo es una herramienta que sigue en la frontera de las distintas miradas que el arte y la sociedad pretenden de él; el cuerpo es una construcción social, por lo tanto, se está revelando a sí mismo, transmitiendo, expresando, porque para las propuestas que han cobrado sentido, la búsqueda es romper moldes, no encasillarse. Este artículo parte de la noción de que en nuestra sociedad se concibe una forma dualista de mirar el cuerpo, construida desde la cuna del mundo occidental. Las artes escénicas hablan desde un cuerpo físico, elemento compartido entre el actor y el espectador: con el cuerpo se leen otros cuerpos, por eso los símbolos y constructos que se generan a partir de él son tan poderosos y eficaces. De esta forma de mirar el cuerpo trata este texto.
