HISTORICAL CONCEPTIONS OF THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS OF THE HISTORY OF AMERICA IN PRE-UNIVERSITY EDUCATION. A TENDENTIAL HISTORICAL STUDY RESUMEN La enseñanza aprendizaje de la Historia de América desempeña un importante papel en el proceso de formación integral de los jóvenes cubanos. El estudio de su trayectoria nos ofrece una aproximación a polémicas, potencialidades e insuficiencias que han acompañado a esta asignatura a lo largo de los años. Para realizar el estudio histórico tendencial fue necesario revisar de forma crítica documentos de los congresos del Partido Comunista de Cuba, referidos a la política educacional, resoluciones y materiales editados por el Ministerio de Educación que recogen en lo esencial las disposiciones sobre el perfeccionamiento continuo del Sistema Nacional de Educación. Destacan los planteamientos y trabajos de importantes didactas nacionales y documentos normativos. El estudio de las fuentes consultadas demuestra que la Educación Preuniversitaria, así como el Sistema Nacional de Educación, se transformó integralmente a raíz del triunfo revolucionario y aun hoy continúan sus cambios. Antes de este hecho el bachillerato cubano se caracterizaba por el acceso limitado de los estudiantes a estas instituciones; la poca unidad entre lo instructivo y lo educativo, las concepciones burguesas y un enfoque positivista primaba en las asignaturas Historia Universal, de América y de Cuba. PALABRAS CLAVE: Estudio Histórico; Historia de América; Historia Reciente. ABSTRACT The teaching of the History of America plays an important role in the process of integral formation of Cuban youth. The study of his career offers us an approach to polemics, potentialities and inadequacies that have accompanied this subject over the years. In order to carry out the historical study, it was necessary to critically review documents from the Congresses of the Communist Party of Cuba, referring to educational policy, resolutions and materials published by the Ministry of Education, which essentially include the provisions on the continuous improvement of the System National Education Highlights the approaches and work of important national didactic and normative documents. The study of the sources consulted shows that the Pre-University Education, as well as the National Education System, was completely transformed as a result of the revolutionary triumph and even today its changes continue. Before this fact the Cuban baccalaureate was characterized by the limited access of students to these institutions; the little unity between the instructive and the educational, the bourgeois conceptions and a positivist approach prevailed in the subjects Universal History, America and Cuba.
