Galapagos Islands located 1000 Km from Ecuadorian coasts; with a population slightly over 25,124 (Notational Institute of Statistics of Ecuador, 2010) people, living on the main islands San Cristobal, Santa Cruz, Isabela and Floreana was declared National Park in 1959 and marine reserve in 1986. Due to the fragile environment, the immigration is controlled by Ecuadorian Government.
