Description

In recent years, the rapid growth of cities is arguably the most complex phenomenon for urban nvironments. Many concerns about pollution, preservation of ecosystems and human?s negative impact on nature are related to sprawl as a consequence of the uncontrolled expansion of urban areas. A number of studies have explored the relationship between people and the environment; nevertheless there are still missing attempts to analyse in depth the ?role which physical form and the structure of today?s city plays in the process of environmental destruction? and also to study ?how the city should be physically changed to improve its environmental impact?.
