Description

The aim of this study is to investigate how intercultural policies and other socio-political means can influence ethnic identification of Ecuadorians. This study aims to gain an insight in the perspectives of different Ecuadorian experts than work in areas influenced by these policies. This will be done through out qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews with five academics three teachers and two community leaders. Additionally, this paper will deal with the idea of interculturality and ethnic identification, first by examining theoretical and historical frameworks and second by relating specific experts statements rooted in Ecuadorian context.
