Propuesta de un programa de entrenamiento de profesores de ingl?s para escuelas en el Ecuador

The urgent need of improvement of English language teaching (ELT) across Ecuador is evident. For the first time in several decades of English being part of the education system, government authorities have accepted completely this reality and have committed to develop different ways of redesigning the parameters of how English is being taught and learnt in schools throughout the country. Amongst the new guidelines established, one stands out and is the reason of this paper. Government authorities have determined that by the scholar years 2016-2017/2017-2018 English will be taught as a compulsory subject in all elementary schools. According to the Ministry of education (MinEduc) to accomplish this, an estimated number of seven thousand teachers are needed to fulfil the teaching roles. Therefore, this proposal will be the beginning of a further project, that when fully developed will serve as a way to coach and train teachers, and as the same time will help with the improvement and development of ELT in Ecuador.
La urgente necesidad del mejoramiento de ense?anza de ingl?s en el Ecuador es evidente. El ingl?s ha sido parte del sistema de educaci?n por d?cadas y por primera vez el gobierno y sus autoridades han aceptado esta realidad comprometi?ndose en desarrollar distintas formas para redise?ar los par?metros de ense?anza y aprendizaje del idioma dentro de las escuelas alrededor del pa?s. Dentro de los nuevos lineamientos establecidos, una en particular sobre sale y es la raz?n de esta tesis. Se ha determinado que desde el a?o escolar 2016-2017/2017-2018 el ingl?s sera ense?ado como materia obligatoria en las escuelas alrededor de todo el pa?s. De acuerdo con el Ministerio de Educaci?n para llegar a cumplir con esto, se necesita un estimado de siete mil profesores. Por lo tanto, esta propuesta ser? el inicio de un proyecto, que al ser terminado servir? como un programa de capacitaci?n para profesores y que a su vez ayudar? al desarrollo de la ense?anza del ingl?s en el Ecuador.
