The memes are communicational products that proliferate in social networks and are received by thousands of people, they are identified by their entertaining content and with innocent content, however, these devices have a lot of reception when there is a political event as in this case the Referendum 2018 in Ecuador. This research paper tries to identify how the memes help the construction of new political imaginary and how they visualize imaginary that are established in Ecuadorian society, will also focus on identifying what are the social imaginary built and visualized in two of the most visited pages in Ecuador that are Crudo Ecuador and Soy Revolución, from a specific political issue that is the Referendum 2018.
Los memes son productos comunicacionales que proliferan en las redes sociales y que reciben miles de personas. Se los identifica por su contenido entretenido e inocente; sin embargo, estos dispositivos tienen mucha recepción cuando existe un suceso político como el que se analiza en este caso, la Consulta Popular de 2018 en Ecuador. Este trabajo de investigación intenta identificar cómo los memes ayudan a la construcción de nuevos imaginarios políticos y cómo visualizan imaginarios que están establecidos en la sociedad ecuatoriana. También se centra en identificar cuáles son los imaginarios sociales construidos y visualizados en dos de las páginas más visitadas en Ecuador que son Crudo Ecuador y Soy Revolución, a partir de un tema político específico que es la Consulta Popular 2018.
