Inmigración y desafíos de la Europa multicultural (Artículos Varios)

Description: Este artículo analiza cómo el viejo continente comienza el nuevo milenio afrontando un gran desafío: dar una respuesta a los miles de inmigrantes que año tras año provienen desde diversos países del Tercer Mundo y de la Europa del Este en busca de mejores oportunidades. Frente a esto, la autora plantea que uno de los mayores desafíos europeos del presente consiste en buscar la manera de sustentar una realidad multicultural, producto de un mundo globalizado, dentro del proyecto hegemónico que hoy representa la consolidada Unión Europea.
Thís article analyzes how Europe has started the new century confronting the challenge of conciliating the enormous flow of inmigrants, coming from Third World countries and Eastern Europe, with its process of political and economic integration. The achievement of this conciliation, according to the author, poses the problem of establishing a multicultural environment within the hegemonic project of the European Union.
