Durante la historia de las ciudades muchos han idealizado un modelo que se ajuste de la manera más conveniente para cumplir con las necesidades que garanticen una vida placentera para sus habitantes; mundialmente se han buscado soluciones a los problemas que aquejan a las ciudades en busca de una sociedad perfecta.\nDesde tiempos remotos se ha dado una lucha por el mejoramiento de nuestras conformaciones urbanas es así que Platón soñó una sociedad donde reinara la felicidad y la justicia, una ciudad productiva donde se trabajara por el bien común. Del mismo modo Tomás Moro defiende sus ideas de una organización y un estado perfecto sentado en las bases del comunismo. Otros soñaron en ciudades geométricas perfectas aparece así la ciudad de Vitrubio, y Palmanova. Se piensa ya en la estructura misma de la ciudad, se producen cambios significativos con la importancia que se da al espacio público, y se comienza a tomar en cuenta la naturaleza como parte fundamental creando ciudades ajardinadas y espacios arbolados. Las influencias del mundo antiguo son llevadas al Nuevo donde se mezclan con las civilizaciones prehispánicas donde sus propios trazados urbanos son o bien tomados en cuenta o modificados con las influencias del mundo Antiguo. Se insiste en la traza ordenadora del territorio y en el espacio público. Con el pasar del tiempo y el crecimiento de la industria las ciudades crecen desordenada e insalubremente e incluso sin servicios básicos, y es ahí donde las conformaciones urbanas van cambiando. Los urbanistas toman al campo como su salida a los problemas irresolubles de la ciudad lo que da cabida a los proyectos urbanísticos.\nEl propósito de este trabajo de investigación es realizar un examen a las ciudades, indagar en cómo han ido desarrollándose a través del tiempo, y si se han cumplido las expectativas para las que han sido creadas. Es por ello el análisis urbanístico de toda la Avenida Fray Vicente Solano, su crecimiento, desarrollo, sus cambios con el pasar del tiempo, así como la aplicación de las Utopías en su estudio, y su factibilidad en el sector. Esta Avenida es considerada como un icono de la ciudad de Cuenca ya que destaca en este contexto como un pedazo de historia de la "ciudad jardín", por numerosas viviendas aisladas de amplios jardines y atravesada por los ríos Yanuncay, Tomebamba y Tarqui, cuyas riberas y márgenes cubiertas de saúcos, sauces y eucaliptos, constituyen parte importante de la reserva verde de la ciudad. Gracias a varios estudios, he podido percibir el valor de esta avenida y de la importancia de su intervención en muchos aspectos como la vialidad y accesibilidad que mejoran la calidad de vida de sus usuarios, citadinos y turistas, al transitar por ella.
Throughout the history of cities many people have idealized a model that fits the most suitable way to meet the requirements that ensure a pleasant life for their inhabitants. Worldwide, people have sought solutions to the problems that many cities face in search of a perfect society. \nSince ancient times there has been a struggle for the improvement of our urban conformations, for example Plato dreamed of a society where happiness and justice reign; a productive city where work was done for the common good. Similarly Thomas Moore defends his ideas of an organization and a perfect State on the basis of communism.\nOthers dreamed of perfect geometric cities; thus, the city of Vitruvius, and Palmanova appear. The structure of the city is already taken into account; significant changes occur giving a necessary importance to public space, and nature is seen as a fundamental part of the city by creating gardens and woodlands cities. The influences of the ancient world are brought to the New one where they mix with the pre-Hispanic civilizations where their own urban layouts are either taken into account or modified with the influences of the Ancient World. The ordering trace of the territory and the creation of public space are emphasized. Over time and with the evolution of industry, cities grow haphazardly and unhealthily and even without basic services and that is where urban conformations are changing. City planners take fields as their utopian solution for unsolvable problems of the city which accommodates urban projects.\nThe purpose of this research is to conduct a review to cities, investigate how they have developed over time, and whether they have fulfilled the expectations for which they were created or not. That is why this urban analysis of all Fray Vicente Solano avenue, its growth, development as well as its changes over time, and the application of Utopias in its study, and the feasibility in the sector. This avenue is considered as an icon of the city of Cuenca as highlighted in this context as a piece of history of the "Garden City" due to its many isolated houses with extensive gardens and crossed by the Yanuncay, Tomebamba and Tarqui rivers whose banks and covered margins elder trees, willows and eucalyptus are an important part of the green reserve of the city. \nThanks to several studies, I have been able to know the value of this avenue and the importance of its involvement in many aspects of the city such as roads and accessibility which help improve the quality of life of its members, city dwellers and tourists who transit through it.
