OBJETIVO: El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar la relación entre el nivel de ingreso y la negligencia al cuidado dental en adultos medio 45 a 65 años de edad de la parroquia Hermano Miguel de la ciudad de Cuenca – Ecuador, 2017. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: La metodología aplicada para esta investigación fue de casos y controles, misma que fue aplicada a 476 personas a través de encuestas, de los cuales se tomó una muestra de 60 casos y de 60 controles personas entre sexo masculino y femenino de 45 a 65 años de edad en la Parroquia Hermano Miguel, ubicada en la ciudad de Cuenca. RESULTADOS: Los resultados obtenidos fueron que 103 de las personas con negligencia al cuidado dental son de bajo nivel de ingreso socioeconómico determinando que si existe relación entre el nivel de ingreso y la negligencia al cuidado dental. Presentando un ODDS RATIO de 1.514. CONCLUSIÓN: El presente estudio \nconcluye que existe relación entre en ingreso socioeconómico y la negligencia al cuidado dental debido a que la población de la parroquia Hermano Miguel presenta un bajo nivel socioeconómico, ya que la mayor parte de los encuestados se dedica al comercio y no cuentan con una educación superior.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between income level and negligence to dental care in adults between 45 and 65 years of age from the Hermano Miguel parroquia in the city of Cuenca - Ecuador, 2017. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The methodology applied for this investigation was of cases and controls, which was applied to 476 people through surveys, of which a sample of 60 cases was taken and of 60 controls people between male and female of 45 to 65 years of age in the Hermano Miguel Parroquia, located in the city of Cuenca RESULTS: The results obtained were that 103 of the people with dental care negligence are of low socioeconomic income level, determining that if there is a relationship between the level of income and the neglect of dental care. Presenting an ODDS RATIO of 1.514. \nCONCLUSION: The present study concludes that there is a relationship between socioeconomic income and neglect of dental care because the population of the Hermano Miguel parish has a low socioeconomic level, due to the fact that most of the Respondents are engaged in trade and do not have a higher education
