OBJETIVO: El objetivo de este investigación fue Relacionar el grado de instrucción y la automedicación en adultos jóvenes de 18 a 44 años de edad de la Parroquia Huayna Cápac en la ciudad de Cuenca, 2017. MATERIALES Y METODOS: El enfoque de la investigación es cuantitativo con un diseño Caso-Control, relacional de campo, la población total fue de 401 personas de 18 a 44 años de edad de la parroquia Huayna Cápac de donde se obtuvieron 74 casos y 74 controles según el cálculo por la fórmula del tamaño muestral. RESULTADOS: Los resultados en cuanto a la realcion entre el Grado de instrucción y la automedicación fueron según la medida estadística de Oddf Ratio: 1.42. CONCLUSION: Se concluyó que el grado de instrucción es un factor de riesgo para que las personas se automediquen, El nivel de automedicación según el sexo es mayor en el género femenino. La edades de 20 y 22 años presentan 10 casos y 10 controles respectivamente por lo tanto son los adultos jóvenes que más se automedican
AIM: The objective of this research was to relate the degree of instruction and selfmedication in young adults from 18 to 44 years of the Huayna Capac parish in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador, 2017. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The research approach is quantitative With a Case-Control, Correlational Field design, the total population was 401 people from 18 to 44 years of age from the Huayna Capac parish, from where 74 cases and 74 controls were obtained according to the calculation by the sample size formula. RESULTS: The results regarding the realization between the Degree of instruction and the self-medication were according to the statistical measure of Oddf Ratio: 1.42. CONCLUSION: It was concluded that the degree of instruction is a risk factor for people to self-medicate. The level of self-medication according to gender is higher in the female gender. The ages of 20 and 22 years have 10 cases and 10 controls respectively, therefore they are the young adults who self-medicate the most
