Propósito: Obtener y analizar las percepciones sobre el uso de anticonceptivos en el Colegio Nocturno San Francisco de Cuenca. Materiales y métodos : Este trabajo investigativo se realizó con un diseño cualitativo se llevó a cabo un grupo focal con los estudiantes del Colegio Nocturno “San Francisco” de la Ciudad de Cuenca, entre las cuales se seleccionaron 13 personas 6 hombres y 7 mujeres, entre 17 a 23 años .El muestreo fue por selección intencional. Los datos recogidos a través de los grupos focales fueron grabados, transcritos manualmente y analizados con una perspectiva de análisis del discurso.\nHallazgos: De los 13 estudiantes que se le realizo el grupo focal, todos conocen sobre algunos métodos de anticonceptivos sin embargo 7 de ellos no los usan, sus padres no tienen la facilidad de explicarles de los métodos anticonceptivos.\nConclusiones: Los estudiantes no tienen conocimientos apropiados acerca del uso de anticonceptivos por la falta de comunicación sobre educación sexual con sus padres, las consecuencias que pueden con llevar en el futuro pueden ser graves como una enfermedad de transmisión sexual.
Purpose: To obtain and analyze the perceptions surrounding the use of contraceptives at the night high school “San Francisco” in Cuenca.\nMaterials and methods: This investigative research was undertaken with a qualitative design. The treatment group consisted of students from the night high school “San Francisco”. Of the thirteen students selected, six were men and seven were women. All were within 17 to 23 years of age.\nThe sample was created via intentional selection. The data acquired through the focus groups was recorded, manually transcribed, and analyzed with the perspective of analysis from the discourse.\nFindings: All 13 students which participated in the study had some knowledge of contraceptive methods. However, 7 students do not use contraception. This can likely be attributed to the fact that their parents do not have the ability or knowledge to discuss the benefits of contraceptives.\nConclusions: The students do not have appropriate background knowledge regarding the use of contraceptives due to a lack of communication from parents regarding sex education. The consequences of being uneducated in the topic of contraceptives are severe, and the risks include the possibility of acquiring sexually transmitted diseases.
