El presente trabajo analiza la destrucción del ecosistema del manglar por falta de normas preventivas en la legislación ecuatoriana, que garantice su conservación y que permita mantener el desarrollo sostenible, de este ecosistema a las generaciones presentes y futuras. Se resaltará además el valor e importancia ecológica y económica que representan para nuestro país, como Patrimonio Natural del Estado. Se enunciará las causas más comunes que afectan al ecosistema del manglar y sus efectos en el mismo. Así como también se expondrá los roles que el Estado ha dado a los Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados respecto a la materia ambiental y se analizará lo que la ley dispone respecto a la prevención, control y educación ambiental. El caso específico del análisis es el problema concerniente a la gran disminución de especies marino costeras que se desarrollan en el manglar, por el exceso de contaminación, falta de restauración y de medidas que dispongan el adecuado manejo de este ecosistema, a fin de prevenir daños posteriores.
The current work analyzes the destruction of the mangrove ecosystem due to lack of preventive regulations in the Ecuadorian legislation, intended to assure conservation and allowing a sustainable development of the ecosystem for present and future generations. The ecologic and economic value and relevance for the country as a State Natural Site shall be highlighted- the most common causes affecting the mangrove ecosystem and effects on the same shall be exposed. Roles assigned by the Government to Autonomous Decentralized Governments in respect to the environmental management shall be addressed, and there will be an analysis of legal provisions on environmental prevention, control and education. The specific problem to be analyzed is the great decrease of marine-coastal species that live in the mangrove, due to excessive contamination, non-restoration and other measures for the adequate management of the ecosystem, in order to prevent and future damages to the ecosystem.
