El objeto del presente trabajo de titulación es realizar un estudio y análisis de la Carta Demócratica Interamericana. La Carta Democrática Interamericana es un documento creado por los Estados Miembros de la OEA, con la finalidad de fortalecer y proteger la democracia en los países del continente, siendo reconocida como un hito en la historia de la región debido a que es el primer documento que ofrece verdaderos mecanismos de defensa para la lucha contra los mecanismos dictatoriales que se habían establecido en diversos países de américa, impulsando -principalmente- la democracia representativa. La Carta representa un gran paso en la conquista de derechos, ya que reconoce a la democracia como un derecho primordial para el desarrollo de los pueblos y sus ciudadanos de manera particular. Sin embargo, este intrsumento presenta algunas irregularidades y debilidades. Así se analizará en que ocasiones se imposibilita la aplicación de la misma, cuales son sus mecanismos de defensa y las recomendaciones que dentro del marco del derecho internacional son posibles de aplicar.
The purpose of this degree work is to carry out a study and analysis of the Inter-American Democratic Charter. The Inter-American Democratic Charter is a document created by the Member States of the OAS, with the purpose of strengthening and protecting democracy in the countries of the continent, being recognized as a milestone in the history of the region because it is the first document that it offers true defense mechanisms for the fight against the dictatorial mechanisms that had been established in various countries of the Americas, promoting -mainly- representative democracy. The Charter represents a great step in the conquest of rights, since it recognizes democracy as a fundamental right for the development of peoples and their citizens in a particular way. However, this component has some irregularities and weaknesses. Thus, it will be analyzed on which occasions its application is impossible, which are its defense mechanisms and the recommendations that within the framework of international law are possible to apply.
