Cuando se habla de una conexión entre el comercio y el manejo sostenible del ambiente, se debe saber que se está hablando de una relación la cual, en la mayoría de casos, suele ser contradictoria. Que el comercio y la información se hayan expandido mundialmente supone que se genera una necesidad de afrontar comportamientos sociales transfronterizos al momento de tratar con el medio ambiente y de cómo este se relaciona con el comercio. En Ecuador, la industria automotriz tiene un papel importante en cuanto a la economía del país, pues es una de las que más ingresos genera, ésta también está ligada a la producción y venta al por mayor y al por menor de materiales para el vehículo, así como al mantenimiento de estos. La industria se convierte en una de las mayores generadoras de trabajo en el país, tanto directos como indirectos. Es de conocimiento público que el sector automotriz genera un impacto sobre el medio ambiente bastante negativo debido a las emisiones de gases que estos liberan creando problemas a corto y largo plazo. Sin embargo, existen alternativas que reducen estos riesgos y continúan ayudando al crecimiento del PIB de un país. Los automotores ambientales, autos híbridos y eléctricos, son la mejor opción para reducir estos daños y para seguir contribuyendo con la economía del país.
When talking about a connection between trade and sustainable management of the environment, it should be known that we are talking about a relationship which, in most cases, is usually contradictory. The fact that trade and information have expanded worldwide means that there is a need to address cross-border social behavior when dealing with the environment and how it relates to trade. In Ecuador, the automotive industry plays an important role in terms of the country's economy, since it is one of the industries that generates the most income, it is also linked to the production and wholesale and retail sale of materials for the vehicle, as well as their maintenance. The industry becomes one of the largest generators of work in the country, both direct and indirect. It is public knowledge that the automotive sector generates a very negative impact on the environment due to the gas emissions that they release, creating problems in the short and long term. However, there are alternatives that reduce these risks and continue to help a country's GDP growth. Environmental vehicles, hybrid and electric cars, are the best option to reduce these damages and to continue contributing to the country's economy.
