Description

La tuberculosis bovina (TBB) es una enfermedad zoonótica causada por el Mycobacterium bovis, altamente contagiosa, ataca principalmente a los pulmones y ganglios linfáticos causando un deterioro general de salud del animal la cual se ve reflejada en baja producción y pérdidas económicas. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la prevalencia de tuberculosis bovina (TBB) en tres hatos ganaderos del cantón General Antonio Elizalde (Bucay) en los meses de Octubre a Diciembre de 2018, en el lugar de trabajo se contó con 238 cabezas de ganado, de las cuales se consideró para estudio una muestra dada por una selección dirigida de 150 animales a evaluar, de los cuales se seleccionaron a los que presentaron síntomas y signos que visiblemente sean asociados a tuberculosis, cada animal fue sujetado o ingresado a la manga de manejo y control para proceder a realizar la aplicación de tuberculina PPD cepa AN 5 inactivada por vía intradérmica (pliegue caudal), realizando la lectura a las 72 horas post inoculación del antígeno para evaluar los resultados positivos, negativos o sospechosos.
Bovine tuberculosis (TBB) is a zoonotic disease caused by Mycobacterium bovis, highly contagious, mainly attacks the lungs and lymph nodes causing a general deterioration of health of the animal which is reflected in low production and economic losses. The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of bovine tuberculosis (TBB) in three cattle herds of the canton General Antonio Elizalde (Bucay) in the months of October to December 2018, in the workplace there were 238 head of cattle, which was considered to study a sample given by a directed selection of 150 animals to be evaluated, of which those who presented symptoms and signs that are visibly associated with tuberculosis were selected, each animal was held or entered into the management sleeve and control to carry out the application of tuberculin PPD strain AN 5 inactivated intradermally (caudal fold), performing the reading at 72 hours post inoculation of the antigen to evaluate positive, negative or suspicious results.
