La investigación “Percepción de las y los estudiantes de primer ciclo de la Carrera de Trabajo Social sobre los motivos para su elección profesional” procura recopilar la percepción de los y las estudiantes acerca de los factores que influenciaron su decisión de estudiar Trabajo Social durante el proceso de elección de la carrera, además de conocer cuáles son sus percepciones acerca de la carrera. La investigación tiene como objetivo principal identificar cuáles son las características que presentan los y las estudiantes con el fin de poder identificar el perfil de las personas que ingresan a estudiar Trabajo Social. Como base teórica se ha implementado la Teoría Ecológica de Bronfenbrenner con el fin poder comprender la realidad de los estudiantes de acuerdo con la relación de su proceso de desarrollo y la influencia de los diferentes contextos de su vida. La investigación tiene la intención de poder dar a conocer uno de los motivos por los cuales la carrera de Trabajo Social posee baja participación de estudiantes masculinos, la intención del estudio es visibilizar una problemática que ha sido poco abordada desde la carrera. Desde el enfoque de investigación mixto con la intención recolectar información que permita poseer datos y rescatar la parte subjetiva del pensamiento de los y las estudiantes.
The following research “Perception of the students’ first cycle of the Social Work Major regarding the reasons for their professional choice.” This study looks to gather the students' perception about the factors that influenced their decision to study Social Work during the career choice process, in addition to understand the perception they have about the career they have chosen. The main objective of the research is to identify the student’s characteristics in order to stablish the individual´s profile of the students who decide to pursue Social Work as their field of study. As a theoretical benchmark, the Bronfenbrenner Ecological Theory has been implemented to fully understand the students’ reality related to the relationship with their development process as well as the influence of the different contexts of their lives. The research aims to let me readers know the reasons why the Social Work career has a low participation coming from male students, the intention of the study is to highlight a problem that has not been properly addressed in this field. This study will be approached with a mixed research focus; which is looking up to collect information that allows to collect data and rescue the subjective thinking of the students.
