Introducción: El uso de la ozonoterapia en odontología ha incrementado con el pasar del tiempo , siendo uno de los tratamientos mas usados a nivel estomatológico, la unión del ozono con el aceite de girasol toma el nombre de oleozón el cual ha llegado a ser el mas usado para tratar la estomatitis subprotesica. La utilización del oleozón de forma tópica ha demostrado un gran poder germicida y presenta una gran acción de oxigenación de los tejidos. Objetivo: Analizar la eficacia de la ozonoterapia como tratamiento de la estomatitis subprotesica. Materiales y métodos: el trabajo es una revisión bibliográfica es una investigación de enfoque cualitativo , retrospectivo transversal con un diseño descriptivo y analítico, cuya muestra fue de 30 artículos , respetando los criterios de inclusión y exclusión . Resultados: el uso del ozono tiene excelentes propiedades bactericidas, cicatrizantes , antinflamatorios y germicidas , es eficaz en Grado I y II de E.S , el número de aplicaciones del oleozón necesarias es entre 5-10 , y el tiempo de curación entre 7 y 9 días , los pacientes suelen presentar ardor muy leve y no interfiere en el tratamiento. Conclusión: El uso de la ozonoterapia especialmente del oleozón en pacientes con Estomatitis subprotesica resultó ser muy eficaz en pacientes que padecen dicha patología.
Introduction: The use of ozone therapy in dentistry has increased over time, being one of the most used treatments at the stomatological level, the union of ozone with sunflower oil takes the name of oleozon which has become the most used to treat subprosthetic stomatitis. The use of oleozon topically has shown a great germicidal power and has a great action of oxygenation of the tissues. Objective: To analyze the efficacy of ozone therapy as a treatment for subprotesic stomatitis. Materials and methods: the work is a bibliographic review, it is a research with a qualitative, retrospective cross-sectional approach with a descriptive and analytical design, whose sample was 30 articles, respecting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: the use of ozone has excellent bactericidal, healing, anti-inflammatory and germicidal properties, it is effective in Grade I and II of ES, the number of oleozon applications necessary is between 5-10, and the healing time between 7 and 9 days. , patients usually have very mild burning and does not interfere with treatment. Conclusion: The use of ozone therapy, especially oleozon in patients with subprotesic stomatitis, turned out to be very effective in patients suffering from said pathology.
