La presente investigación exploró las percepciones de estudiantes de Trabajo Social sobre situaciones de violencia en las relaciones de noviazgo. La investigación se condujo con un enfoque de corte cualitativo y de nivel exploratorio, utilizando como técnica entrevistas semi-estructuradas y un grupo focal. Su perspectiva holística intentó comprender las dinámicas que se dan en las relaciones de parejas, para reconocer los factores que generan violencia, identificar las estrategias y recursos de afrontamiento con que los estudiantes podrían contar para encontrar soluciones a sus situaciones de violencia, y determinar la influencia de su formación académica en las situaciones de violencia experimentadas por ellos en sus relaciones de noviazgo. Este estudio pretende contribuir a futuras investigaciones del fenómeno de violencia en las relaciones de noviazgo de universitarios, en aras de la prevención del mismo, y estimular la creación de redes de apoyo dentro de las universidades, donde aquellos estudiantes en situaciones de riesgo puedan encontrar un espacio adecuado para hablar de la coerción y el maltrato que puedan estar experimentando.
This investigation explored the perceptions of Social Work students regarding situations of violence in love relationships (dating). The research used a qualitative approach, on an exploratory level, via semistructured interviews and a focus group as a technique. Its holistic perspective attempted to understand the dynamics of love relationships (dating), to recognize the factors that generate violence, identify the coping strategies and resources on which students could count to find solutions to their situations of violence, and determine the influence of the academic formation on the situations of violence experienced by them in their love relationships. This study aspires to contribute to future investigations of the phenomenon of violence in love relationships among university students, in order to prevent it, and to stimulate the creation of support nets within the universities, wherein those students at risk could find an adequate space to talk about the coercion and abuse they may be experiencing.
