La insuficiencia renal crónica es considerada como una enfermedad catastrófica que debe ser tratada mediante la aplicación de los recursos adecuados y el tratamiento ideal en este caso la hemodiálisis. La presente investigación se realizó con el objetivo de determinar los factores que inciden en el costo del tratamiento de hemodiálisis en los pacientes atendidos en el Hospital General del Norte de Guayaquil del Instituto Ecuatoriano de la Seguridad Social (IESS) en el periodo enero-mayo 2018, para lograrlo se trabajó con una metodología cuali- cuantitativa con un alcance descriptivo buscando conocer las propiedades, características y rasgos importantes del fenómeno analizado, y no experimental puesto que el investigador no interviene en el fenómeno estudiado, sólo se limita a describir lo observado; se aplicó el método analítico –sintético con el fin de analizar la información recolectada a través de instrumentos de investigación como las historias clínicas y las entrevistas dirigidas al personal del área de hemodiálisis. La propuesta fue la realización de un programa de capacitaciones acerca de optimización de recursos y reducción de costos en la gestión hospitalaria, dirigidas al personal del área de hemodiálisis del Hospital General del Norte de Guayaquil, del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social (IESS).
Chronic renal failure is considered a catastrophic disease that must be treated through the application of adequate resources and the ideal treatment in this case hemodialysis. The present investigation was carried out with the objective of determining the factors that affect the cost of the hemodialysis treatment in the patients attended in the General Hospital of the North of Guayaquil of the Ecuadorian Institute of the Social Security (IESS) in the period January-May 2018, to achieve it We worked with a qualitative-quantitative methodology with a descriptive scope seeking to know the properties, characteristics and important features of the phenomenon analyzed, and not experimental since the researcher does not intervene in the studied phenomenon, he only describes the observed; the analytical -synthetic method was applied in order to analyze the information collected through research instruments such as clinical histories and interviews directed to personnel in the hemodialysis area. The proposal was the realization of a training program about resource optimization and cost reduction in hospital management, aimed at the personnel of the hemodialysis area of the General Hospital of the North of Guayaquil, of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS).
