The Coffee Library Shop, “El Café Seco” was created due the need to promote the culture and reading in the North-Center of Quito, in the 10 de Agosto and Fray Antonio Marchena Streets, where different cultural sites can be found, like libraries, restaurants, offices and universities, also to recover a partially abandoned building. This establishment gives the opportunity of read and buy books with cultural and recreational endings, in which books like Best-Sellers, Tourism, Press, Culture and others can be found, these can be read while consuming food or drinks, also there is a space with different cultural events like Poetry, Music or Reading Nights, and Book Signing. The project is installed in the three last floors from a building of six, where the view is used to create a relaxed and comfortable environment along with the furniture and materials for the activities foreseen.
La cafetería biblioteca “El Café Seco” se creó debido a la necesidad de promover la cultura y la lectura en el sector Centro Norte de Quito, en las calles 10 de Agosto y Fray Antonio de Marchena donde se encuentran diferentes establecimientos culturales como bibliotecas, restaurantes, oficinas y universidades, además de recuperar un edificio parcialmente abandonado. Este establecimiento brinda la oportunidad de leer y comprar libros con fines culturales y recreacionales, entre los cuales pueden ser Best-Sellers, Turismo, Prensa, Cultura y demás, mientras se consumen alimentos o bebidas expendidas en el mismo lugar, además de un espacio para diferentes eventos culturales como noches de poesía, música, lectura o firmas de libros. El proyecto se encuentra instalado en las tres últimas plantas de un edificio de seis, donde se aprovecha la vista y se crea un ambiente confortable y relajado a través de la materialidad y diseño para el desarrollo de las actividades previstas.
