Valoración de la fuerza masticatoria mediante electromiografía en pacientes adultos edéntulos parciales y edéntulos totales con recambio de sus prótesis dentales en CAO

Objective: To determine the masticatory force in partial and total toothless patients with replacement of their dental prostheses by electromyography in the anterior temporalis and superficial masseter muscles while chewing. Introduction: The masticatory force is the activity that the masseter and temporalis muscles make in the opening, closing and lateral movements. The objective is to determine the masticatory force in partial and total toothless patients with the replacement of the prosthesis in CAO. Materials and Methods: 60 patients were involved (n = 60), control group (GC) (n = 20) of optimal orthodontic occlusion, Group 1 (G1) (n = 20) of removable prosthesis, Group 2 (G2) (n = 20) total prosthesis. The analysis of the masticatory force with the electromyography positioning the electrodes in the masseter and temporalis muscles based in the investigation and comparison of old prostheses with new prostheses. Results: Results: Statistically significant study with 95% certainty and (p=0.05) of significance, in total prostheses the masticatory force presents a higher level compared to other groups like control and removable prostheses. In the control group we found patients who finished orthodontic treatment. Also, the test_student was used for paired samples and to compare the before and after prostheses. Finally, we used the anova test-t with (p=0.000) factor that shows the difference between the groups in the initial and final masticatory force, independent of the group evaluated.
Objetivo: Determinar la fuerza masticatoria en pacientes desdentados parciales y edéntulo totales con recambio de sus prótesis dentales, mediante electromiografía en los músculos temporal anterior y masetero superficial durante la masticación. Introducción: La fuerza masticatoria, es la actividad que ejercen los músculos maseteros y temporales los cuales realizan movimientos de apertura cierre y lateralidades, el objetivo es determinar la fuerza masticatoria en pacientes edéntulos parciales y totales con el recambio de prótesis en CAO. Materiales y Métodos: Se evaluaron 60 pacientes (n=60), grupo de control (GC) (n=20) de ortodoncia oclusión óptima, Grupo 1 (G1) (n=20) de prótesis removible, Grupo 2 (G2) (n=20) prótesis total. El análisis de fuerza masticatoria con el electromiógrafo posicionando los electrodos en los músculos maseteros y temporales en base a la investigación y comparación de prótesis antiguas con prótesis nuevas. Resultados: Estudio estadísticamente significativo con un 95 % de certeza y un (p=0,05) de significancia, en prótesis total es mayor la fuerza masticatoria en comparación a los otros grupos, el de control y el de prótesis removible, en el grupo de control encontramos pacientes jóvenes que terminaron tratamiento de ortodoncia. Se utilizó el tes-t Student para muestras pareadas y comparar el antes y después de las prótesis. Y se utilizó el tes-t de anova de un factor (p= 0.000) que indica la diferencia entre los grupos en la fuerza masticatoria inicial y final independiente del grupo evaluado.
