This paper is the result of a research that are dealt with issues of international area. Titled "Analysis of the power of veto in the Security Council, as a limiting factor to global security", this paper analyzes the privilege that having permanent members (veto) for pass a resolution, lack of consensus and representation in the Council, may become an obstacle rather than a tool for global security, taking into account the realism and collective security. To do this, an analysis of the background to the creation of the Security Council and the likely effect that the change in UN reform will take this factor. On the other hand, is taken as a case analysis Palestine Israel conflict and the United States veto in this issue. Finally it seeks to analyze if the initial objective of the Security Council reflects today.
El presente trabajo es el resultado de una investigación en la que se abordan temas dentro del área internacional. Bajo el título “Análisis del poder del veto en el Consejo de Seguridad, como factor limitante a la seguridad mundial”, este trabajo busca analizar si el privilegio (veto) que tienen los miembros permanentes al momento de pasar una resolución, por la falta de consenso y representación en dicho Consejo, puede llegar a ser un obstáculo en lugar de una herramienta para la seguridad mundial, tomando en cuenta el realismo y la seguridad colectiva. Para ello, se realizará un análisis sobre los antecedentes a la creación del Consejo de seguridad y el posible efecto que tendría el cambio en las Naciones Unidas con una reforma a este factor. Por otro lado, se tomará como caso de análisis el conflicto Israel Palestina y el veto de Estados Unidos dentro de esta problemática. Finalmente se busca analizar si el objetivo inicial del Consejo de Seguridad se refleja en la actualidad.
