This paper arises from the importance of knowing the situation in the host country (Ecuador) of those people who leave their country because their lives, safety, liberty and integrity have been threatened. This research aims to determine public policies directed to the field of health, primary and secondary education, higher education, housing and access to banking services for refugees and asylum seekers. It is important to note that Ecuador is the country in Latin America that houses more number of refugees in its territory. El presente trabajo surge de la importancia de conocer la situación en el país receptor (Ecuador) de aquellas personas que salen de su país de origen porque su vida, seguridad, libertad e integridad se han visto amenazadas. Las aristas en las que se basa la presente investigación son las políticas públicas dirigidas al ámbito de salud, educación primaria y secundaria, educación universitaria, vivienda y acceso a entidades bancarias.
