This work entitled: SECURITY OF NURSING CARE IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICINES ACCORDING TO THE TEN CORRECT. HOSPITAL ALFREDO NOBOA MONTENEGRO, GUARANDA 2017-2018, was developed considering that the quality of nursing care is a complex concept where interventions are based on scientific, humanistic and ethical principles, based on respect for life and the dignity of each human being and thus ensure care that meets the needs of each patient. Therefore, the responsibility of health personnel is based on the implementation of actions for compliance in therapeutic ´processes, for this the use of the correct ten in the administration of medication, must be performed under medical prescription and focused on reaffirming the knowledge acquired and necessary attitudes to apply a drug, being the nurse responsible for the registration of medicines administered and record the notes if adverse reactions are observerd, which affect the safety of the user. For the above reasons, the study aims to identify the use of the correct ten for the administration of medication and how it influences the safety of the nurse; for which a research methodology, observational, descriptive, field and cross-sectional design determined in the period October 2017-March 2018 was applied. We used as data collection instruments, an observation guide for the nursing staff at the time of performing the medication administration procedure with the use of the correct ten, with a population of 86 nurses. After tabulating and analyzing the data, it can be concluded that the highest percentage of nursing personnel correctly use the biosafety measures during the preparation and administration of the medication; it should be emphasized that a minority percentage omits some of the biosafety measures, thus exposing both the risks as well as the professional and the patient. El presente trabajo de Titulado: SEGURIDAD DEL CUIDADO DE ENFERMERÍA EN LA ADMINISTRACIÓN DE MEDICAMENTOS SEGÚN LOS DIEZ CORRECTOS. HOSPITAL ALFREDO NOBOA MONTENEGRO, GUARANDA 2017-2018, se desarrolló en consideración a la calidad de atención de enfermería es un concepto complejo donde las intervenciones están basadas en principios científicos, humanísticos y éticos, fundamentados en el respeto a la vida y la dignidad de cada ser humano y así asegurar cuidados que satisfagan las necesidades de cada uno de los pacientes. Por lo cual, la responsabilidad del personal de salud se basa en la realización de acciones para el cumplimiento en los ´procesos terapéuticos, para ello el uso de los diez correctos en la administración de medicación, debe realizarse bajo prescripción médica y enfocado en reafirmar los conocimientos adquiridos y actitudes necesarias para aplicar un fármaco, siendo así la enfermera responsable del registro de los medicamentos administrados y registrar las notas si se observan reacciones adversos, que afecten la seguridad del usuario. Por lo anteriormente expuesto, el estudio pretende identificar el uso de los diez correctos para la administración de medicación y cómo influye en la seguridad del enfermero; para lo cual se aplicó una metodología investigativa, observacional, descriptiva, campo y de diseño transversal determinada en el periodo octubre 2017- marzo 2018. Se utilizó como instrumentos de recolección de datos, una guía de observación al personal de enfermería en el momento de realizar el procedimiento de administración de medicamentos con la utilización de los diez correctos, contado con una población de 86 enfermeras. Luego de tabular y analizar los datos se pudo concluir que el mayor porcentaje del personal de enfermería utiliza correctamente las medidas de bioseguridad durante la preparación y administración de medicación; cabe recalcar que un porcentaje minoritario omite algunas de las medidas de bioseguridad exponiéndose así a riesgos tanto el profesional como para el paciente.
