Estudio de linea base de la producción de papa (Solanum Tuberosum L) en cinco comunidades de la parroquia la matriz, cantón Guamote, provincia de Chimborazo

La investigación se realizó en cinco comunidades del sector COCIPA ubicado en cantón Guamote, provincia de Chimborazo. Los objetivos planteados fueron: 1) Identificar los factores que influyen en los niveles de productividad, 2) Establecer los indicadores socio económicos que tuvieren en la producción, 3) Analizar las unidades de producción y volúmenes de papa, 4) Determinar los costos de producción. La Metodología utilizada para recolectar información fue a base de encuestas y se identificaron los segmentos de mercados locales, sus preferencias en cuanto a variedades, cantidades, servicio requerido y precio. Dentro de la composición familiar los mayores integrantes son los hijos, La religión predominante es la Evangélica, son kichwa hablantes, pertenecen a la raza indígena, el nivel educativo promedio es de instrucción primaria y secundaria, poseen casa propia construido de ladrillos, no disponen de todos los servicios básicos, existe migración en un porcentaje moderado por los hijos. Todos los productores son propietarios de sus UPAS, la topografía es irregular, las labores culturales son realizadas manualmente, no realizan análisis de suelo, el producto más cultivada es la papa, la superficie de siembra depende de la disponibilidad del terreno, la mayor parte de los agricultores utilizan su propia semilla, no cuentan con agua de riego, utilizan abonos de sus granjas, fertilizan combinadamente, los problemas que tienen es en la identificación de plagas y enfermedades, la producción depende de la experiencias y las actividades que realiza el agricultor durante el ciclo de cultivo, también saben clasificar por tamaño, almacenar y producir semilla, realiza la venta en plazas y mercados cercanos, aseguran que las capacitaciones son importantes para asegurar la buena producción comercialización y rentabilidad, están consientes en no excederse con la utilización de productos químicos para no causar daños al medio ambiente. Algunos agricultores mencionan que la falta de capacitación, agua de riego, precios bajos, apoyo de las autoridades, crédito, asistencia técnica, no han contribuido con la mejora de las condiciones de vida a los agricultores con la producción de papa
The investigation was carried out in five communities of the sector COCIPA located in canton Guamote, county of Chimborazo. The outlined objectives were: 1) to identify the factors that influence in the levels of productivity, 2) to Establish the economic indicative partner that tuvieren in the production, 3) to Analyze the production units and potato volumes, 4) to Determine the production costs. The Methodology used to gather information was with the help of surveys and the segments of local markets were identified, their preferences as for varieties, quantities, required service and I price. Inside the family composition the biggest members are the children, The predominant religion is the Evangelical one, they are speaking kichwa, they belong to the indigenous race, the level educational average is of primary and secondary instruction, they possess built own house of bricks, they don't have all the basic services, migration exists in a percentage moderated by the children. All the producers are proprietors of their UPAS, the topography is irregular, the cultural works are carried out manually, they don't carry out floor analysis, the most cultivated product is the potato, the siembra surface it depends on the readiness of the land, most of the farmers uses its own seed, they don't have watering water, they use payments of their farms, they fertilize combinadamente, the problems that have are in the identification of plagues and illnesses, the production depends on the experiences and the activities that the farmer carries out during the cultivation cycle, they also know how to classify for size, to store and to produce seed, he carries out the sale in squares and near markets, they assure that the trainings are important to assure the good production commercialization and profitability, they are you consent in not being exceeded with the use of chemical products for not causing damages to the environment. Some farmers mention that the training lack, dilutes of watering, low prices, support of the authorities, credit, technical attendance, they have not contributed with the improvement from the conditions of life to the farmers with potato's production
