Objective: Reveal the academic experiences of migrant students of the nursing career, State University of Bolívar period July-November 2018.Methodology: the present case study has a qualitative approach that included the participation of 10 students who migrated from the different provinces to the city of Guaranda, in order to pursue a university degree at the State University of Bolívar; the method of research and information gathering was through a field interview, which was processed through Atlas Ti software, this program allows us to classify by codes, memos, families and semantic networks, obtaining as a final result a map conceptual that summarizes the qualitative information for the analysis of the case study. The authorization of the Ethics Committee of the State University of Bolivar was used to prepare the informed consent that was provided to each student who participated in the present investigation. Results: A total of 6 core categories were generated, of each category 2 subcategories were deployed, except for two of them that generated 1 subcategory and the other that generated 3 subcategories which summarize the results obtained from the processing of the information of the interviews. These categories are: My feelings about migration, My support to migrate, My expectations as a student, Discovering the good and the bad of migration, My academic adaptation as a migrant student, Promoting my knowledge; of these categories, it was determined that the migration effect generates a positive result since students can thus develop better and be independent.. Conclusions: The migratory process in the university students of the nursing career has been a challenge that the students took and have faced with responsibility. Objetivo: Revelar las vivencias académicas de los estudiantes inmigrantes de la carrera de enfermería, Universidad Estatal de Bolívar periodo julio- noviembre 2018. Metodología: el presente estudio de caso tiene un enfoque cualitativo que contó con la participación de 10 estudiantes que migraron desde las distintas provincias hacia la ciudad de Guaranda, con el fin de cursar una carrera universitaria de tercer nivel en la Universidad Estatal de Bolívar; el método de investigación y recolección de información fue a través de una entrevista de campo, la misma que fue procesada a través del software Atlas Ti, dicho programa nos permite clasificar por códigos, memos, familias y redes semánticas, obteniendo como resultado final un mapa conceptual que resume la información cualitativa para el análisis del estudio de caso. Se contó con la autorización del Comité de Ética de la Universidad Estatal de Bolívar para elaborar el consentimiento informado que fue facilitado a cada estudiante que participó en la presente investigación. Resultados: Se generaron un total de 6 categorías núcleo, de cada categoría se desplegaron 2 subcategorías, excepto de dos de ellas que genero 1 subcategoría y la otra que genero 3 subcategorías las cuales resumen los resultados obtenidos del procesamiento de la información de las entrevistas realizadas. Dichas categorías son: Mis sentimientos ante la migración, Mi apoyo para migrar, Mis expectativas como estudiante, Descubriendo lo bueno y lo malo de la migración, Mi adaptación académica como estudiante migrante, Impulsar mi conocimiento; de dichas categorías se determinó que el efecto de migración genera un resultado positivo ya que así los estudiantes pueden desarrollarse mejor y ser independientes. Conclusiones: el proceso migratorio en los estudiantes universitarios de la carrera de enfermería han sido un reto que los estudiantes lo tomaron y lo han enfrentado con responsabilidad.
