This Project began after the need for facilitating the teaching-learning process in the Basic Medical Sciences at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ). It is based in the use of the Reflective Portfolio, a student individually developed document which summarizes his/her experiences about Human Anatomy, in order to allow the acquisition of competences, by means of evaluations and feedback. The study evaluated the use of the Reflective Portfolio in the Human Musculoskeletal System course during the academic year 2007-2008 using a survey to analyze the functionality, adherence and impact of the method among the students; also, there was made a correlation between the number of accesses to the course website and the final grades; finally, there was made a participative workshop in order to improve the application of the Reflective Portfolio
Este proyecto nace de la necesidad para facilitar el proceso de enseñanza - aprendizaje en el área de Ciencias Básicas en la Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ). Se basa en el empleo del Portafolio Reflexivo, un documento elaborado por cada estudiante con su experiencia del curso de Anatomía Humana para permitir adquirir competencias mediante evaluaciones y retroalimentación. El estudio evaluó el uso del portafolio reflexivo en el curso de Sistema Músculo-esquelético en el año académico 2007-2008 usando una encuesta para analizar la funcionalidad, adherencia e impacto del método en los estudiantes; examinado la correlación entre el número de accesos a la página Web del curso y las notas finales; y un taller participativo para mejorar la aplicación del portafolio reflexivo.
