Description

This project is named “Parque Cementerio”. It searches to change the idea Ecuadorians have of cemeteries. Changing the idea of tragedy and sorrow, in a country where the cemeteries hardly get visited, changing it to a space of spiritualism where people can meditate through their connection with nature. The project is located in Puembo, east of Quito. Its ambient conditions, the strong relation with the surroundings and the context helps achieve the fundamental goal of this project. However, the surroundings isn’t the only thing that facilitates the project, an emotive architecture is generated, this is done through architectonic elements like walls and constructions but at the same time through natural elements like rocs, water and the horizon, the project searches to generate an atmosphere of privacy and serenity.
Este proyecto denominado “Parque Cementerio”, busca principalmente cambiar la idea que tenemos los ecuatorianos como cementerio. Cambiar esa idea trágica y tétrica, donde los cementerios son poco visitados, y volverlo así un espacio, que evoque espiritualidad donde la gente pueda meditar, a través de su conexión con la naturaleza. El proyecto inicia básicamente con el lugar, se desarrolla en Puembo, al sur este de la ciudad de Quito. Sus condiciones ambientales, su fuerte relación con el entorno y contexto ayuda con el propósito fundamental del proyecto. Sin embargo, el entorno no es lo único que facilita al proyecto, se genera una arquitectura emotiva, por la cual, a través de, tanto elementos arquitectónicos como sus muros y planos; como también sus elementos naturales como rocas, agua y el horizonte mismo, buscan generar una atmósfera de privacía y serenidad.
