The necessity to treat landscapes as part of architectural design brings forth the investigation of this thesis. The main goal of it is to incorporate nature and architecture in a single meaningful and yet harmonious project. When landscapes are treated sympathetically with the urban plot, they help structuring architectural elements and fulfill the necessities of green public areas and other services to the community. This project attempts to recover the character of the avenue; four blocks work as a green unit, but also an area of transition between the traffic of the avenue and the residential area. In some parts of the project, it is necessary to transform the architectonic attitude of big dimensions to intimate smaller spaces. In these spaces, nature is treated in a poetic way, creating thematic parks related to the architectural activities. The activities associated with introspection were developed with a literary sense, and in that way poetics are related with architecture. The mysticism of the church is related with poems of the immensity of the forest and water. The funerary on the other hand, is related with the three phases of Dante’s Divine Comedy: the inferno, the purgatory and the paradise.
La investigación de la tesis nace de la necesidad de tratar al paisaje como parte del diseño arquitectónico, de tal manera que la integración entre naturaleza y arquitectura generen un sólo proyecto. El paisaje tratado de manera sensible y relacionado con la trama urbana, ayuda a estructurar los elementos arquitectónicos, y además a dar una respuesta a las demandas del sector de un área verde pública y otros servicios para la comunidad. Con el proyecto se trata de recuperar el carácter de la avenida; las cuatro manzanas se vuelvan en una unidad verde, que es un punto de transición entre el tráfico de la avenida y el sector residencial. En ciertos puntos del proyecto se volvía necesario transformar la acción arquitectónica de grandes dimensiones en espacios con intimidad. Y es en estos espacios donde la naturaleza se empieza a tratar de manera poética, generando una serie de parques temáticos relacionados con las actividades arquitectónicas. Las actividades relacionadas con la reflexión se desarrollan con un sentido literario, y es aquí cuando la poética toma parte en la arquitectura. El misticismo de la capilla se relaciona con poemas relacionados con la inmensidad del bosque y el agua, mientras que la funeraria se relaciona con las tres fases de la Divina Comedia de Dante: el infierno, el purgatorio y el paraíso.
