Implementación del Algoritmo de Corrección de Color en Imágenes Digitales usando Ecualización basado en el Método Gray World y White Patch

This paper present the implementation of an algorithm to improve the color of an image considering global and local effects, including the spatial distribution of color. The algorithm performs the color enhancement automatically equalizing the colors and improving the image. The algorithm is called ACE (automatic color equalization). The implemented algorithm is based on the human visual system and at the same time use the equalization methods "White Patch" and “Gray World “. ACE is an adaptive algorithm that can handle different levels of brightness when the image is equalize. The algorithm has shown very good results maintaining color and brightness constancy, while equalizing and improving the image. The paper presents the mathematical perspective, the characteristics and results of the algorithm. The results show an image with higher contrast. The resulting image is visually better and contains a higher number of details. Concluding ACE maximizes the information contained in the image.
Este trabajo presenta la implementación de un algoritmo para realzar el color de una imagen, considerando efectos globales, locales e incluyendo la distribución espacial de color. El algoritmo ejecuta el realce de color de una manera automática ecualizando los colores y mejorando la imagen. El algoritmo recibe el nombre de ACE (ecualización automática de color). El algoritmo implementado está basado en el sistema visual humano y al mismo tiempo fusiona los métodos de ecualización “Parche Blanco” y “Mundo Gris”. ACE es un algoritmo adaptativo que puede manejar diferentes niveles de luminosidad al momento de ecualizar la imagen. El algoritmo ha mostrado resultados muy buenos manteniendo la constancia de color y luminosidad mientras ecualiza el color y mejora la imagen. El trabajo presenta la perspectiva matemática, características y resultados del algoritmo. Los resultados muestran una imagen con mayor contraste. La imagen resultante es visualmente mejor y contiene un mayor número de detalles. Concluyendo que ACE maximiza la información contenida en la imagen.
