Trastorno de personalidad por evitacion: a través de técnicas humanistas y cognitivas conductuales

This case study describes the treatment of avoidant personality disorder through the application of humanistic and cognitive behavioral therapy, applied to a college student of 25 years old, who we´ll called Juan. The client was diagnosed from the criteria of DSM-IV-TR. The reason for his visit was for several factors that occurred in the last three years of his life: a breakup, low-interest things, the recent death of his father, problems with her mother and sisters. The therapy lasted for 15 sessions in which they worked from a humanistic and cognitive behavioral perspective. For the evaluation we used the inventory of symptoms SCL-90-R of L. Derogatis (2008). Detailed treatment will be exhibited in the case study. The results indicated that the integration of humanistic and cognitive therapy was effective in treating this case of avoidant personality disorder.
Este estudio de caso describe el tratamiento de un trastorno de personalidad por evitación por medio de la aplicación de terapia humanista y cognitivo conductual aplicado a un estudiante universitario de 25 años, a quien se denominará Juan. Al cliente se lo diagnosticó a partir de los criterios del manual DSM-IV-TR. El motivo de su consulta fue por varios factores que se presentaron en los últimos tres años de su vida: una ruptura amorosa, bajo interés por las cosas, la reciente muerte de su padre, problemas con su madre y hermanas. La terapia tuvo una duración de 15 sesiones en las cuales se trabajó desde una perspectiva humanista y cognitiva conductual. Para la evaluación se utilizó el inventario de síntomas SCL-90-R de L. Derogatis (2008). El detalle del tratamiento será expuesto en el estudio de caso. Los resultados indican a que la integración de la terapia humanista y cognitiva fueron efectivas para tratar este caso de trastorno de personalidad por evitación.
