Estudio clínico comparativo entre el N-Butil-cianoacrilato y sutura vicryl en injertos gingivales libres

In this comparative clinical study, two different materials were used to join the gingival free graft to the receiver bed. One of the materials used was Periacryl ( N-butil-2-cyanoacrylate ) and the other was Vicryl ( suture selfabsorbing 4-0 ). Both were evaluated to compare the patient´s comfort, swelling, joint of graft edges, and scar, with follow up of post-operatory pain during the 1st, 2nd, and 3th days. Mucogingival surgery was performed on 16 patients. In 4 of them a study of split mouth was done; in 10 cases Vicryl 4-0 was used and they were named the control group. And in 10 cases Periacryl was used and they were named the study group. Observations of operatory areas and controls performed in 8 post-operatory days showed a lot of comfort to the patients that used N- butyl-2-cyanoacrylate, when compared with the control group it showed a very important decrease of pain in the 1st, 2nd and 3th days after surgery intervention. Periacryl (N- butyl-2-cyanoacrylate ) can be used to join gingival free graft to the receiver bed, therefore becoming an effective alternative to this purpose.
En el presente estudio clínico comparativo, se utilizó dos materiales diferentes para la unión del injerto gingival libre a su lecho receptor; uno de los materiales usados fue el Periacryl ( N-butil-2-cianoacrilato ) y el otro material fue el Vicryl ( sutura reabsorbible 4-0 ), los mismos que fueron evaluados comparando la comodidad para el paciente, tumefacción, unión de bordes del injerto y cicatriz, con un seguimiento del dolor posoperatorio al primero, segundo y tercer día. La realización de la cirugía mucogingival se llevó a efecto en 16 pacientes, de los cuales 4 correspondieron a un estudio de boca dividido; 10 casos fueron realizados con Vicryl 4-0 y fueron el grupo control; y 10 casos con Periacryl que se constituyeron en el grupo de estudio. Observaciones de los sitios operatorios y controles a los 8 días posoperatorios demostraron mucha comodidad para los pacientes con el uso de N-butil-2- cianoacrilato comparados con el grupo control, con una disminución muy importante del dolor al 1º, 2º, y 3º día después de la intervención. El Periacryl ( N-butil-2-cianoacrilato ) puede ser utilizado en la unión del injerto gingival libre a su lecho receptor, por lo tanto se constituye en una alternativa eficaz para este propósito.
