The common hospital systems have turned giving birth into any other physiological process, many times categorized as something pathological, where women have to sacrifice their comfort and adapt to the needs and requirements of the doctor. It is due to this predicament that new visions about childbirth are been proposed, so that it becomes a moment worth remembering. Humanized birth was born as answer of what was previously explained. This delivery method focuses on satisfying the mother’s physiological and emotional needs; during this process the woman is the center of attention, which is why the medical staff adapts to her needs and not the other way around. The first encounter with the infant is a moment where respect and tranquility prevail, so that the newborn comes into the world surrounded by an atmosphere of abounding happiness and confidence. In the first chapter of this project the importance of humanizing childbirth and harmonizing its atmosphere, will be explained. It will begin with a brief explanation of time, which will introduce the central theme, and it will conclude with the development of a brand and its products, which have the potential to contribute positively to this cause. The second chapter entails the importance of respectable companionship during childbirth, and how this helps the mother feel empowered during this event. Doulas are key subjects to understand the importance of such companionship. Unfortunately, our society has an ambiguous and almost unknown concept of doulas, and their importance is undervalued; which is why to transform this confusion and lack of knowledge, I worked with the Ecuadorian Network of Doulas (Red de Doulas Ecuador) and the first school specialized in the formation of Doulas in the country, Savia Materna, to reposition Red de Doulas’ brand and create the brand for Savia Materna
Los sistemas hospitalarios comunes han hecho que el parto sea considerado como cualquier otro proceso fisiológico, muchas veces catalogado como algo patológico, en donde la mujer debe regirse a las necesida¬des y exigencias del médico que la atiende sacrificando su comodidad. Es debido a esta problemática que en la actualidad se están planteando nuevas vi¬siones acerca del alumbramiento, para que el mismo sea un momento digno de recordar. El parto humanizado nace como respuesta de lo expuesto anteriormente, este tipo de parto se enfoca en suplir las necesidades fisiológicas de la madre, sin dejar de lado aquellas emocionales. Durante el mismo, la mujer es el centro de atención, es por esto que el equipo médico se acopla a sus ne¬cesidades y no al contrario. En este primer encuentro con el bebé, prima el respeto y la tranquilidad para que el recién nacido lle¬gue al mundo rodeado de un ambiente feliz y de confianza. En el primer capítulo de este trabajo se po¬drá entender el por qué de la importancia de humanizar el parto y armonizar su am¬biente, comenzando con una breve explica¬ción del tiempo, lo que conducirá al tema central, concluyendo con el desarrollo de una marca y sus respectivos productos, los cuales tienen el potencial de contribuir po¬sitivamente a esta causa. Por otro lado, en el segundo capítulo, se trató acerca de la importancia del acom-pañamiento respetuoso durante el parto, y como el mismo ayuda para que la mujer se empodere de este evento, en el cual las doulas son sujetos claves para entender di¬cho acompañamiento ya que ellas lo brin¬dan. Lamentablemente las mismas no son reconocidas en nuestra sociedad ya que la gente tiene un concepto muy ambiguo o nulo acerca de ellas, es por esto que para que esta confusión y desconocimiento cese en nuestro país, se trabajó conjuntamente con la Red de Doulas Ecuador y con la pri¬mera escuela de especialización de Doulas de nuestro país, Savia Materna, tanto en su reposicionamiento como creación de mar¬ca respectivamente.
