Description

This thesis project relates to the creation of a native mobile application for iOS, where various web tools are integrated. These web tools are the ETF Classification System (ECS), Fund Performance, Holdings and News. The ECS integrates an ETF search and classification tool, where basic information about the chosen fund is shown. Fund Performance draws a chart with the fund’s price over a period of time, along with a bar chart which expresses the fund’s volume over the same period of time. It also presents a table with relevant information about the fund in different periods of time. Holdings shows three pie charts with information about the top countries, sectors and enterprises where the ETF has been invested in. Finally, News shows the latest articles written on IndexUniverse’s website about the ETF in mention. It’s worth mentioning that all the information shown in the application is brought through web services, which guarantees that the data is up to date and in real time.
El presente proyecto de tesis trata de la creación de una aplicación móvil nativa para iOS en donde se integran varias herramientas web. Estas herramientas web son el ETF Classification System (ECS), Fund Performance, Holdings y News. El ECS integra tanto un buscador como un clasificador de ETFs, en donde se despliega la información básica del ETF escogido. Fund Performance dibuja un gráfico del precio del fondo en el tiempo, en conjunto con una gráfica de barras que expresa el volumen del fondo en el tiempo de igual manera. Presenta también una tabla con la información relevante del fondo en varios periodos de tiempo. Holdings muestra tres gráficas con información sobre los países, sectores y empresas en las que más se ha invertido el fondo. Finalmente, News muestra los últimos artículos escritos en el sitio web de IndexUniverse acerca del ETF en cuestión. Vale mencionar que toda la información que se despliega se la trae con el uso de servicios web, lo cual nos permite tener los datos actualizados en tiempo real.
