Nowadays all organizations manage and implement projects, the main difference between organizations is the level of maturity regarding the management in projects and the savings that a structured policy in project management represents for the organization. This paper presents a diagnosis of maturity of an educational organization using qualitative and quantitative tools. According to the principles findings and the identified level of maturity a proposal of improvement in projects management for a proper project implementation is presented. It is useful to have a metric system that allows keeping projects’ traceability; therefore, this study presents a gained value management system tool with performance indicators to evidence the benefits generated in the resource management of an organization.
