Description: Fasciola hepatica is a trematode that parasites rumiants, causing relevant economic loses to the cattle industry because of the low milk and meat production, or even the animal death. The main objective of this research is to identify surface antigens of the newly excised juveniles (NEJ) of the parasite, by indirect immunofluorescence and dot blot ELISA using sheep sera previously immunized with cathepsin L-1 (FheCL1) and thioredoxin peroxidase (FheTPX), who are excretion/secretion products of Fasciola hepatica that have been proposed as candidate vaccines against fasciolasis.
