Currently, education undergoes transformations influenced by the knowledge society that bases its activity on the digital and virtual environment (Medina Nogueira, 2016). Digital literacy is one of the fundamental axes of human performance, and for which the safe and reliable use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in educational processes has been strengthened (Torres et al., 2020). ICTs, from being a complementary tool in teaching, have become a powerful medium that allows the successful development of educational practices. The evaluation as a component of the teaching-learning process (Guzzetti de Marecos, 2020) is immersed in this development and with them, the innovative ways of carrying out the evaluation that regardless of the process and the moment (initial, formative, continuous and final) or the type of evaluation (self-evaluation, co-evaluation and hetero-evaluation) have found development in these technologies (Álvarez & Taboada, 2016). This research presents a study about the use of digital tools as an alternative in the development of assessments and their impact on learning. It is developed in the academic year 2022-2023 in the students of 3rd Basic General Education (EGB) of the César Borja Lavayen school, El Empalme.

Actualmente, la educación sufre transformaciones influenciadas por la sociedad del conocimiento que fundamenta su actividad en el entorno digital y virtual (Medina Nogueira, 2016). La alfabetización digital es uno de los ejes primordiales del desempeño humano, y para lo cual se ha fortalecido el uso seguro y confiable de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) en los procesos educativos (Torres et al., 2020). Las TIC, de ser una herramienta complementaria en la enseñanza, se han convertido en un medio potente que permite el desarrollo exitoso de las prácticas educativas. La evaluación como componente del proceso de enseñanza – aprendizaje (Guzzetti de Marecos, 2020) se encuentra inmerso en este desarrollo y con ellas, las innovadoras formas de realizar la evaluación que independientemente del proceso y del momento (inicial, formativa, continua y final) o el tipo de evaluación (autoevaluación, coevaluación y heteroevaluación) han encontrado desarrollo en estas tecnologías (Álvarez & Taboada, 2016). La presente investigación presenta un estudio acerca del uso de las herramientas digitales como alternativa en el desarrollo de las evaluaciones y su repercusión en el aprendizaje. Se desarrolla en el año académico 2022-2023 en los estudiantes de 3ro Educación General Básica (EGB) de la escuela César Borja Lavayen, El Empalme.
