Description

This project presents the design and implementation of a system for monitoring water quality at the treatment plant wastewater Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey - Mexico when have developed a wireless sensor network using modules Zigbee-based communication technology. The project consists of three main stages: implementation stage, wireless network and the development of user interface. For the development of WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) was used XBee Development Kit ZNet. The user interface was programmed using the graphical tool for LabviewTM data visualization, presentation graphics and iDigiTM server access. Warning alarms were programmed contaminants in water features, to get out of range values for parameter: pH, dissolved oxygen and temperature. Finally, we conducted performance tests of the system include tests of range, accuracy, communication and power consumption.
