The Inca and the Pallas of Marca Scenes Andean utopia

Description: The adaptation for the stage of El Inca y las Pallas, performed annually in Peru within the framework of the feast of the holly patron San Lorenzo, is a contemporary restoration of an Andean utopia. For six days and several nights, the Inca Rumiñahui, the Pallas, the Captains, and Felipillo, embody a repertory of performing practices that both register and produce an event based upon a unique support: the body. In this study we try to single out that Andean utopy though the putting on scenic of the Inca and the Pallas.
La escenificación del Inca y las pallas que se realiza anualmente en el pueblo de Marca del Perú, en el contexto de la celebración de la fiesta en honor al Santo Patrón, San Lorenzo, es una restauración contemporánea de la utopía andina. Durante seis días y varias de sus noches, el Inca, Rumiñahui, las Pallas, los Capitanes y Felipillo encarnan un repertorio de prácticas escénicas que registran y producen acontecimiento a partir de un soporte único, el cuerpo. Nos proponemos en este estudio identificar y analizar los elementos singularizadores de la utopía andina en la escenificación del Inca y las Pallas de Marca.
