En el siglo XXI, las ciencias tradicionales no se presentan como elementos estancos sino relacionados o imbricados entre sí. El término STEM, de las siglas en inglés de Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas, surge de manera natural tanto en la enseñanza como en la investigación y el mundo laboral. Estas áreas han estado vedadas a la mujer o bien la participación de esta no ha sido lo visible que debiera. Este trabajo presenta una aproximación a la historia de la presencia de la mujer en la ciencia y al estado actual de la relación ciencia-género para lo cual se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica y un análisis del estado de la cuestión, con ejemplos, a fin de generar un espacio de diálogo para que las políticas de inclusión sean efectivas no sólo a nivel general sino en el particular de la ciencia y la tecnología. AbstractIn the 21st century, traditional sciences do not present themselves as watertight elements, but related or imbricated among themselves. The term STEM, a shortened form for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, arises naturally as much in the education as in the research and professional world. These areas have been forbidden to women or their participation has not been as visible as it should be. This paper presents an approach to the history of women’s presence in science and the current state of the science-gender relationship, for which a bibliographical review and an analysis of the state of the art has been done, in order to rise a dialogue space so that inclusion policies are effective not only at a general level but particularity in the science and technology areas..
