The style of attachment between mother and her child during the first year of life is the starting point of the person’s psychosocial development (Bowlby, 2006). The bond style between mother and her child brings on a simple or complicated adaptation in the new preschool environment and is the basis of this research (Bowlby, 2006). This analysis also pretends to look for the integration between the theorical elements of basic Education, Psychology complementes by contributions from Neuroscience. By adopting the mind-brain-education viewpoint, this study offers a theorical structure based on a multidisciplinary scientific support. The objective of the study was to answer how the emotional relationship between the mother and her child during the first year of his/her life contributes to the child’s preschool adaptation. This research was conducted with children between two and four years old, who are starting their preschool life outside of their family and is based on parents’ questionanaires and interviews. This study analyzes the attachment style between the mother and her child in their first year of life and the relationship with the type of his/her preschool adaptation. The relationship between first year mother-child attachment type and preschool educational environment adaptation was analyzed using statistical tools and the results are reported here. This study concluded that there is a relationship between attachment style and the type of children's adjustment to the new preschool environment. These results establish the importance of first interactions between the child and his or her mother or delegate during the early stages of his/her growth. The results also imply the necessity to alert families, educational institutions, government and society in general about the importance of a good connection between mother and child not only for school adaptation, but also life in general.
El tipo de apego dado entre la madre y su hijo durante el primer año de vida constituye el punto de partida del desarrollo psicosocial de la persona (Bowlby, 2006). Este vínculo ha sido considerado como un elemento muy importante en el campo de la educación inicial ya que, partiendo del presente estudio de investigación, el estilo de apego dado entre la madre y su hijo durante los primeros años de vida interviene en el logro de una adaptación sencilla o, en su defecto, complicada al nuevo entorno preescolar (Bowlby, 2006). El presente estudio pretende lograr una integración de los elementos teóricos que constituyen la base de la Educación y la Psicología con aportes dados por el campo neurocientífico. Al adoptar la visión mente-cerebro-educación (MCE), se dará una estructura teórica con un sustento científico multidisciplinario que permita responder a la pregunta: ¿cómo y hasta qué punto el vínculo afectivo entre la madre y su hijo durante su primer año de vida favorece la adaptación al medio preescolar del niño? Se ha realizado un estudio en niños de entre dos y cuatro años de edad que inician su vida preescolar fuera del ámbito familiar. Se analiza el estilo de apego dado entre la madre y el niño en su primer año de vida y el tipo de adaptación al medio preescolar. Con estos datos se pretende, mediante el uso de instrumentos estadísticos, buscar la existencia de una relación entre el tipo de apego y la adaptación al entorno educativo. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que existe una relación entre el estilo de apego y el tipo de adaptación de los niños al nuevo entorno, lo que establece la importancia de las relaciones primarias entre la madre o su representante y el niño durante las primeras etapas de desarrollo. Como consecuencia, es necesario concientizar y alertar a las instituciones, Gobierno y sociedad en general sobsobre el valor de un buen vínculo afectivo entre la madre y el niño para su desarrollo futuro.
