Evaluación al MEB de superficies dentales tratadas con diferentes sistemas de blanqueamiento

Whitening treatments are now widely known and applied; the mechanisms and devices used are wide but there is no clear agreement on the degree of alteration they produce over enamel surfaces. Thus, this study objective is to analyze the changes on the tooth surfaces when exposed to a bleaching agent based on a 35% hydrogen peroxide activated by laser, led, and ozone. After approval by the USFQ ethics committee and a signed informed consent, three participants were subjected to a different type of bleaching activator applied under the manufacturer's specifications. Replicas were obtained from tooth surfaces prior to treatment and after completion by printing these surfaces with a silicone addition paste; predefined dental pieces were polished and then applied a flour treatment to be analyzed within one week.
El blanqueamiento es un tratamiento en la actualidad ampliamente difundido y solicitado; los mecanismos y dispositivos son amplios pero no existe un consenso definido sobre el grado de alteración que estos producen en la superficie de esmalte en la que son aplicados. Así, este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar al MEB los cambios producidos sobre las superficies dentales al ser expuestas a un agente blanqueador a base de peróxido de hidrógeno al 35% sometido a activación mediante láser, led y ozono; para ello, previa aprobación del comité de ética de la USFQ y firma de consentimiento informado, tres participantes fueron sometidos a blanqueamiento con un tipo de activador que fue aplicado bajo las especificaciones del fabricante.
